Person needs to be familiar with AutoCAD 2D, AutoCAD Inventor
3D, high precision engineering of machined components and
design of fairly heavy fabrications. Person will be working
from initial layout drawings in 2D AutoCAD and will be converting
these into fully detailed manufacturing drawings where key
elements such as tolerance, concentricity, surface treatment
and finish etc will be added. Design modifications are likely
following initial testing of product. Hours will probably
be Mon to Fri 8 to 5 as requirement to work closely with another
member of staff. There will also be some fabrication design.
This position is to start middle of March beginning of April.

This is a hands on role working within the Installation Team.
This demanding role will involve supporting a variety of Test
programs, including some that run 24-hrs/day 7 days/week.
The position may also require some flexible working to enable
the on time delivery of customer programmes.
JOB DESCRIPTION
To perform all fuel system installation
tasks in support of new and existing installations working
from engineering drawings & or schematics, with the
minimum of supervision including:
• Manufacture and installation of fuel systems rigs
and various types of measurement probes, transducers and
flow-meters.
• The installation, service & repair of fuel measurement
instruments including AVL 733, 735 & Max Machinery equipment.
• Installation of various fluid and gas pipe work
systems including gasoline,diesel, water, LPG and natural
gas. This work can include both low and high pressure systems
taking into account the test/safety requirements for temperature,
pressure and system layout.
CORE SKILLS
• Fabrication : Using various jigging,
bending, sheet metal forming techniques.
• Machining :Using various machine tools including
drilling machines, lathes, band saws, and grinders.
• Welding, Brazing and Soldering : Using a wide range
of hot working gas and electric processes including MMA,
MIG and TIG, Oxeactalyne.
• Measurement : Using a variety of measurement equipment
including micrometers, vernier callipers and dial gauges
• Bench Fitting : The disassembly and report the condition
of a wide range of pumps, valves, regulators heat exchangers
and other fuel system compoents.To advise on spare parts
and to rebuild to a high standard. Experience of cleaning
working environments such has hydraulic, or precision assembly
essential.
• All work should meet suitable standards of craftsmanship,
standard codes and specifications, established Company practices,
and within assigned guide lines, ensuring that the technical,
scope, budget, quality, health and safety and environmental
objectives are achieved.
TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED
• Practically orientated and capable
of contributing to the technical approach used to achieve
the customer objectives.
• Pro-active and capable of working un-supervised.
Having a disciplined approach to work with pride in their
achievements.
• A committed team player with strong interpersonal
skills, able to work closely with other members of the department
and one who will inter-act well with customers.
• Experienced in engine testing or similar test environment
or related automotive or marine engineering background.
• Previous fuel system experience, & PC skills
an advantage.
• Recognised and appropriate trade qualifications.
